Garage of the Future
The Garage of the Future initiative aims to build learning communities around the regional Field Labs. Employees are needed for development, testing, production, training, maintenance, and monitoring. These are educated and (re)trained in the Garage of the Future. The learning communities are formed with regional theoretical and practical knowledge institutions, companies, and governmental organisations. The Garage of the Future for the north of the Netherlands will be located at ROC Noorderpoort.
In 2024, robotTUNER sponsored the student team of the northern universities with two Renault Twizies with an integrated COLUMBUSS autopilot kit.
In 2025 student teams can use the multi-purpose vehicles offered to the Field Labs for the Self-Driving Challenge, organised by the Dutch Vehicle Agency. Students at HAN University of Applied Science designed the body of the MPV and autonomous docking system.
